GRCI Agility Trials

Want to learn more about agility & enjoy fast-moving fun with dogs & their people?  Please join GRCI & Great Lakes Belgian Tervuren Club for 3 days of agility trials.  GLBTC is sponsoring Friday, 7 /24, & Saturday, 7/25/09, & GRCI is sponsoring Sunday, 7/26/09.  Volunteers are needed for all 3 days; no previous experience with agility is necessary.  Workers will be provided with food & a gift.  The agility trials are being held in the air-conditioned McCook Athletic & Exposition Center, 4750 Vernon Ave., McCook, IL.  Please contact GRCI agility chairperson, Kris Garra, at kgbug@msn.com or GLBTC chairperson, Roberta Whitesides at mxterv@aol.com. to volunteer or for more information.  Thanks for your interest & support of our agility community.



GRCI ANNUAL PICNIC/MEETING

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, August 15,2009, for a day of fun, food, fellowship, & best of all GOLDENS.In the morning members wanting to find out how interested their Golden is with the history of the breed will have opportunity to try field & water work under the expert guidance of Beth Gerdes.  This will be followed by the annual meeting, lunch, games,& frolicking with Goldens. There are 10 fenced acres & a deep pond in which to play. A puppy pool will be provided for quick cooling off, splashing, & play.  Not to forget the veterans (8years of age & older), there will be a parade of veterans with lots of applause. Judy Bush, an AKC Canine Good Citizenship evaluator, has graciously offered her time to provide practice run-through for the the CGC test. Please bring a dish to pass, lawn chairs, canine toys, water bowls, bags for stool pick-up, & the human & canine members of your family.  The club will provide Italian Beef, fried chicken, & beverages.  The picnic/meeting will be held at the home of Cindy & Jim Pakenas, 3N026 Howard Rd., Maple Park.
